Man Asian Literary Prize

Sadly the Man Group has decided not to continue sponsoring this prize and no announcements have been made for a 2013 prize. There has been some criticism that, as the prize has grown, it has attracted bigger names and no longer serves its purpose of unearthing new talent in Asian literature. Last year’s shortlist contained two novels from the Man Booker Prize shortlist so perhaps the sponsors objected to promoting the same books twice.
